Airtel and Reliance Jio have announced that they’ll be officially selling the cellular version of the Apple Watch Series 3 in India and the pre-orders start from May 4th (Friday) onward.
The Apple Watch 3 can be purchased either online (from their official website from 4th May) or offline via Reliance Digital and Jio stores starting May 11th.
Jio is also offering a priority service for those who pre-order the Apple Watch 3. The Jio executives will complete the set up process along with Jio service activation on your behalf.
If needed, they’ll also port your current mobile number to Jio. Additionally, you’ll be allowed to use the same mobile number on both your Smartphone and Apple Watch 3. This offer is available for both postpaid and prepaid users.
On the other hand, Airtel will also start accepting pre-orders from May 4 and will be available for pick up on May 11th onward.
Apple Watch 3 Specifications
The Apple Watch Series 3 comes with built-in cellular connectivity (GPS+Cellular: LTE and UMTS).
It uses an eSIM (built-in), which according to Apple is 100 X smaller than the traditional SIM cards.
You also don’t need a new number for the watch as you can use your existing mobile number on both your mobile and the Fitness smartwatch.
Coming to the specifications of the Apple Watch 3, it comes with a faster S3 dual core processor and a W2 wireless chip for cable-less charging.
The WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options use very less power and hence the battery lasts longer.
The watch is powered by the new watchOS 4. There is also an improved heart rate sensor with dedicated fitness tracker features. It also comes with barometric altimeter.
