The much awaited Mi Band 5 has finally been launched in China recently (June 11, 2020).
Xiaomi has unveiled its next-generation Mi fitness band in two variants, with and without NFC support.

Mi Band 5 Specifications
The Mi Band 5 sports a 1.1 inch AMOLED color display, which is slightly larger than the Mi Band 4 (0.95 inch).
It comes with the support of over 100 animated watch faces that can be downloaded and set as default watchface according to your moods.
The band can track up to 11 sport modes along with your daily activities like steps, calories burned, distance etc… by making use of the Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI) index.

The Mi Band 5 can also track your sleeping patterns efficiently using the improved sleep monitoring system that is 40% more accurate than their previous algorithm.
There is a continuous heart rate tracking sensor that can monitor your pulse rate right from your wrist.
And, using the built-in SpO2 tracker, you’ll be able to get the blood oxygen saturation levels continuously (totally about 28,800 readings) for eight hours in a row.
The other new addition to the Mi activity tracker is the Women’s health tracking feature that allows the female users to monitor & track their menstrual cycle on the go.
Xiaomi Voice Assistant & NFC Support
The Mi Smart Band also comes with a built-in microphone that can be used to enable voice commands using which you can control your band/mobile.
It also supports Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant.
Using the NFC support, the users can make payments through their Mi Band.
Battery & Charging Support
It comes with a 100 mAh battery
According to the claims by Xiaomi, the NFC variant of the Mi Band 5 could last up to 14 days or 2 weeks, while the standard Mi Band 5 can last up to 20 days when fully charged.
It comes with a magnetic charging dock, which means that you don’t have to take out the band from the strap like you did for the previous versions to charge the device.
It is also water-resistant up to 5 ATM (50 meters ).
Outside China, the Mi Band 5 will be known by another name ‘Mi Smart Band 5’.
Other Smart Features
The Mi Band also comes with a remote-control camera feature using which you can click photos from your Smartphone wirelessly using the Bluetooth connection..
And, like every other Smart band, it displays all your app notifications like Social media, text messages, incoming calls, weather updates, music control and more.
Mi Band 5 Pricing & Availability in India
The Mi Band 5 comes with colorful strap options – Black, Blue, Green, Gray, Orange, Pink, Purple and Yellow.
The standard variant of the Mi Band 5 is priced at CNY 189 (Rs.2000), while the NFC variant is priced at CNY 229 (Rs.2500).
As of now, the Mi Band 5 will go on sale starting this June 18th in China, while the details about the availability and price for the rest of the countries like India is not yet revealed.
