Redmi, the sub-brand of Xiaomi, has just launched its first wearable device called the Redmi Smart band in India.
This is their foray into the wearable market as they’re planning to expand into multiple categories.
As you know, Xiaomi is already one of the top players in terms of fitness trackers under Mi brand.
But, the Redmi Band is mainly focused as an entry-level tracker and is priced lower compared to the Mi Smart Band.
Redmi Smart Band Specifications
The Redmi Band comes with a 1.08 inch rectangular color display, which is similar to other fitness bands in the market.
It has a screen resolution of 128 x 220 px and is protected with a 2D tempered glass.
The Smart band, as claimed by the company, will be able to deliver up to 14 days of battery life and comes with a built-in USB charging port that can easily be charged by plugging into a USB-A port on any USB charger, laptop or PC.
It comes with an optical heart rate sensor that helps you monitor heart rates during your workout sessions as well as throughout the day and night.
The sleep monitoring feature help you know how many hours you sleep, REM cycles and sleep quality.
Other features include activity tracking and sedentary reminder.
The fitness band is also water resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM) for 10 minutes.
It comes with Bluetooth 5.0 LE connectivity and can be paired with iOS or Android Smartphones.
There is a 130mAh battery provided inside the band that lasts for up to 14 days.
The band weighs just 13 grams, which is considered extremely lightweight in its segment.
It also comes preloaded with over 50 customized watch faces to choose from, based on your mood.

The Redmi Smart Band comes in four color options: Black, Blue, Green, and Orange.
The fitness band is available for sale from Amazon.in, Mi.com and offline Mi Home stores starting September 9.
